 Feeling stuck? Unheard? Isolated?

Counseling can help alleviate difficulties and stress through a process of self-discovery.

My name is Kristin Shanahan and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I support people in their desire to better understand themselves, often during times of depression, anxiety and life transitions. In a safe, nurturing environment, we explore and discover your patterns of behavior and how they may hinder you from living a meaningful life.

Help is available for clients with the following issues:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Relationship issues
  • Eating Disorders
  • Domestic Violence
  • Substance abuse
  • Inability to regulate emotions
  • General life issues (new career, move, parenting, etc)
  • Childhood trauma
  • Adolescents/Teenagers
  • Foster care system

I use a variety of techniques catered to your needs. This can include out of office assignments as well as art therapy. I have attended trainings in Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Nurturing Parenting and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy. Please browse through my website to learn more about me.

Please contact me at (512) 337-4941 for more information or to set up an appointment.

“Owning our story can be hard but not nearly as difficult as spending our lives running from it. Embracing our vulnerabilities is risky but not nearly as dangerous as giving up on love and belonging and joy—the experiences that make us the most vulnerable. Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light.”
